New Ninja V Firmware Update 10.01

New Ninja V Firmware Update 10.01

The new AtomOS 10 on the Ninja V includes some significant changes in the way things Atomos has done things compared to their previous models  – especially in the overall look and feel, the placement of buttons, and the way that AtomHDR works.

AtomOS 10.01 update is now available to download which we recommend for all users. AtomOS 10.01 contains the following fixes:

  • Fixed a monitoring issue with some cameras where the areas of peak brightness in images would appear black on screen when viewing using selected 3D LUTs.
  • Improved HDMI signal locking to prevent the input from dropping with some camera settings.
  • Fixed an issue with audio delay where audio was corrupted at selected frame rates

You can download it immediately from here

Atomos has conveniently made an explainer video with CEO Jeromy Young. He walks you through the new user interface and explains the reasons behind the changes. He also shows how to get good exposures on your Ninja V for HDR or SDR productions, minimizing the noise in the shadows, while ensuring highlights are not excessively blown out.

Where’s the HDR slider on the Ninja V? As Jeromy explains in the video the HDR slider from the previous AtomOS has been removed but the AtomHDR engine is still inside the Ninja V - Atomos are simply trying to make it less complicated.
